Hi my Isa Browns lay quite well, some of the eggs are smaller, my daughter has the same flock, and she gets lots of double yolkers, and larger eggs, is it the feed? hers get many more scraps than mine.

    Any feedback welcome.

    Regards Mal.

How old are the hens? New pullets will lay sporadically and lay small eggs. The eggs will get bigger as they mature.

Quote:How long does it take. My oldest hen has been laying for 2 months. Other than a short broody spell which I was able to break. She is laying every day and still the eggs are barely up to "a" size, if that. My other younger hen started laying 2 weeks ago and her's are already up to the size of the older one's eggs.

She is supposed to be an Arab Baladi hen but no one seems to know much about them.
