I love my fresh eggs, but I've noticed when I hard boil the eggs, they have a different texture than store bought ones. It's hard to describe, but it's almost like they're sticky when you chew them. Also, when we had chickens when I was younger, I don't remember the texture being so different. My chickens are free-ranging and they get layer feed. They've also been eating the broiler "fast-grow" feed. Could the higher protein be doing something? The broilers are leaving tomorrow, so that won't be a factor anymore. Has anyone noticed their eggs are different?
