Thats awful! What do ppl really think?? I mean honestly..eggs????

A friend of ours makes large detailed birdhouses -- large enough for a security camera to be hidden inside...
he sells them to upscale homes who dont want the LOOK of the camera in their yard..but want the satisfaction
of having one..I think he sells them quite pricey too..like $100....

I havent seen any that look like his at all ever...in fact; he is pretty much cornered the market around here..and online
they are pretty generic if you can get one at all..they are usually to watch birds..not the house/ppl!

Anyway; check into that if you want to have something put up permanently..its an option..

me, personally...I'd just stay home while hubby left..w/kids..and car...or vice versa!!!

I'd be prepared to call 911 before you confront them tho...make sure you let them GET to the eggs before
you do confront..and take pics from a window...that way if they here the sirens and put them back..
when they get there they could just say "we were looking at the chickens.." but you can show the police
the photos...

I think we will find out it is one of her friends or a neighbor. But we have noticed this "day off" for the hens laying for a few weeks. I still have a few finishing touches for her chicken house and then I can get her some better locks.

Today she caught a church friend in the yard, she said she was at church cooking some bread and discovered they did not have baking powder/soda. So she drove past 3 grocery stores to borrow a tsp from my mom..............hmmmmm I knew I did not trust that fine church lady. I think I know another reason why today........... (now to convince mom too)

I was thinking about surprising them and mounting a fake camera on the inside of the egg box with a note that said "surprise" but then thought maybe just putting one inside a sunroom that has a good view would net us the thief.

Now if this were me and after viewing the recordings and it turned out to be a church acquaintance I think I'd let mom go to church, and I'd wait around someplace out of view and after the person has entered hen house. I'd be standing quietly at the gate of the coop waiting for the culprit to emerge. Pretty shocking to be caught literally with a hand in the cookie jar ! Especially when the culprit doesn't know that they are being watched.
