Second time using my new incubator and I didn’t realize the auto egg turner wasn’t on (the test for the egg turner worked and I didn’t realize it hadn’t been reset properly)
I just figured out what was going on and I have since fixed it but I am concerned about the effect on the eggs. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

Yeah, this might compromise the hatch. As long as you have it back up and running, there isn't really anything you can do other than watch and wait. I hope they are ok! Fingers crossed that you will still have a good hatch!

It's not good.:(
In those first few days the egg turning prevents the embryo sticking to the inside of the shell.
The eggs may still hatch but the chicks may have deformities.
The choice you are left with is let the incubation continue with the possibility of deformed chicks or destroy the eggs now and try again.
If you have not had to deal with sick hatchings and don't appreciate the commitment they will need then I would destroy the eggs now.

Blerg. I really don’t want to deal with chick deformities- it is heartbreaking and stressful. Any chance I would be able to tell in the first candling if they stuck to the shell? I suppose it is possible that if they stuck and have since unstuck - I wouldn’t know if there were deformities.
Aaarrrggghh- So much effort in separating the breeding groups and collecting and rotating eggs and now I don’t have one of the roos I bred... I’m just bummed and probably grasping at straws.

I would go ahead and try to hatch them. Just continue your incubation and cross your fingers. If you have any deformed ones hatch just cull them after they hatch. You might end up with some that are fine. Good luck! You won't be able to tell when you candle if they are stuck. Just keep them in and hope for the best. I'm rooting for them! ;)
