Egg Turner MOTOR --- HOT ! ???

My Hovabator turner motor gets hot, and I've not had any hatch problems with eggs sitting in the cup nearest to it.

I figured it's just normal, since inside the incubator is running around 100 degrees anyways.

THANK YOU, Cuban Longtails!

Apparently it is not a problem in incubators which have a fan.

I still wonder about the motors not lasting very long?

With LARGER electric motors.HEAT is a SURE SIGN of upcoming failure.

THANKS for your input and experience! (THIS is what I don't have and wish to find!)

The LG turner that I measured for you yesterday has a snap in plug that keeps you from setting eggs in the hole next to the motor. The motor runs continuosly, so does produce some heat. As you are adjusting your temps, you have the turner running so you allow for this added heat. I haven't noticed any problems with the eggs near the motor. Mine has a fan, which is necessary as far as I'm concerned.

Are these "Little Giant" and "Hovabator" motors the SAME motors?
