I think I am having problems with my turner. I set my eggs one Wed, making this day 3. The turner seemed to be working fine while I was getting the bator set, but now my eggs don't seem to be moving. I never see them in a different postion. I'm worried they're no good now. I've tried marking the eggs, but none of my marks so far have really been all that helpful in seeing whether they're moving or not.

I could take them out and turn them by hand, but since I'm a teacher, and these eggs are at school, I don't really have time to drive up to work three times a day over the weekend. What I need it way to tell if the turner is working, and if not, where can I get a new one, STAT. (Bear in mind I live in a big city). I could turn the eggs by hand today, and put them in a new turner tomorrow. All this is bearing the fact that my eggs are still somehow good. Can't really candle, b/c they're dark eggs.
All my equipment was used and donated to my school, so I dont know what kind of turner I have, but its not LG's. It is one that tilts side to side.

I thought this too about one of my turners so I bought another. It wasn't the turner but the cord I had it plugged into. Now I have 2 turners!! Anyway, You should be able to "hear" it. At least both of mine kind of hum and click. Also the little silver motor gets a bit warm so I know it's on.

It should rotate side to side every four hours. I doubt that you are seeing it the same way exactly each time, so I would check the power and see if it is making any noise/vibration/anything.

If it's not working you can replace it for about $40 at TSC. The LG turner fits in my Hovabator and visa versa.

one of my turners hums, and the other doesn't make noise, but the motor gets a little warm. I don't think it turns as much as the one that hums. one night,I balanced a bottle cap on top, and it had fallen off so I know it turned, but its resolution as 1 turn every 4 hours, you won't see with your naked eyes.

You can hear it. I listen for mine. I know sometimes when I look the eggs are in the same postion. I also before every batch test it for a few days prior to make sure turner is working properly. I know for mine it makes a noise that I can hear when it turns.

My turner had a bad internal sprocket(lost teeth), so it did make noise and got warm but never turned the racks so look occassionally to see if its turning. If not, remove motor and turn rack like motor does, but by hand!
