it's an ovation 28 exHey hun day 17 is day they meant tp hatch but quail come in their own time mine come day 19 some.come day 22 when i just about given up ! Yes humidy i normally do around 65% out of interest what incubator do u have xxx
the incubator has an auto pump and a evaporator thingy.... yet it's still at 60%Eggs wiggle when the chick moves into hatching position. Then there will be a quiet period before they pip internally.
Button quail hatch around day 16, coturnix around day 18, but those are just averages, not set in stone.
A damp sponge or cloth will increase the humidity but ensure it isn't touching the eggs as it will chill them and draw water away from them.
well i don't wanna open the incubator on lockdown...Yeah i was thinking a wet cloth or flannel to up humidy but away from eggs what about misting the eggs? If nt pipped yet
Yeah fair enough i normally *mist* mine on day 14 before lock down if quail havent externally pippped yet very unlikely to shrink wrap right @JaeG ? So if havent pipped yet mite be able to quickly open inc make sure u have enough water and stick a wet flannel or something in away from eggs to help increase humidity totally up to u but thats what id do xxxwell i don't wanna open the incubator on lockdown...
