Wow that's sure a wild weird one! Clearly just didn't develop right in the hen... why I have no idea- but I'm sure someone does so bump!

Crook didn't lay for about 2 weeks. We assumed it was because she was stressed from being chased by a fox but today this is the egg she laid. Any idea why?

that is really weird!
Having said that, I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps happening. One-off or temporary weirdness is quite common in egg laying, for youngsters at least. How old is she, and how long has she been laying?

We bought her from an auction in March 2018 so I'm not 100% her age. She was laying when we bought her and has continued to lay, besides recently, on a daily basis. So I'm assuming she's probably going on 3 years in August.
