egg yolk peritonitis? My buff Orpington is sick

Her comb and waddles are not faded at all, her eyes aren't dull or closing, she's still alert and pecks at my pants when I come in and sit with her. The only thing is her tail is down and she's not walking much or eating. And I'm not sure. It's been at least three days. I can't tell the difference between their eggs.

Her tail is down for the most part. She perks up when I come in though. So sometimes her tail goes up when she perks up

Thank you for the advice. I want to give her some antibiotics to try and help. What do I get? Sorry I'm asking so many questions. I just had a mini breakdown because I'm so worried. My chickens are family to me. Hahaha

When I have a hen droopy and not eating, obviously not well but not showing definite symptoms to point to a diagnosis, I go ahead and start a round of a broad spectrum antibiotic which I keep on hand. I get mine here. https://www.kvsupply.com/Search.aspx?query=Fish Mox 250Mg 60Ct

I use the penicillin and amoxicillin alternately, but give just the one for the full ten day treatment, 250mg once a day or divide it in half and give morning and night. It's up to you.

I checked at Tractor Supply last week to see what they had, and they carry injectable penicillin.

It's so hard to diagnose a chicken and there are no shortage of avian disorders and diseases to choose from. As often as not, an antibiotic will cure the patient, but you may never know with certainty what was wrong.

I've had several bouts of bacterial infections I've traced back to a soggy, stagnant compost pile where the antibiotic effected a definitive cure. EYP isn't always what makes a hen sick.

Thank you so much for your reply! I have a Wilco and a Coastal farm store nearby. I'll check both of those and see what I can get. How do you administer medication to a hen?
