Ok this is going to be hard to explain but here goes! I think I read where you could hatch eggs from a dad & daughter but not to do it with a brother/sister, is this right? My problem is the Roo & 3 hens I got all came from the same place but no idea if they are siblings. If they are brother/sisters what would happen if you incubate an egg? Thanks so much.

Nope, you can do brother and sister, but not for too many generations, as I understand it. Naturally, it would be advisable in the future, say five years down the road, to add some new blood in there.

OHHH That means......more chickens! LOL My husbund better get busy expanding the coop! LOL Thanks so much.

I dont know if this relates to chickens at all..but I have sphynx cats (hairless) I im pretty sure my breeder told me that if you breed father to daughter you get the best of the best when it came to looks and all...so not quite sure if it relates to chickens or not but thought I would add it in!

When it comes to breeding related birds it can also emphasize the worst characteristics of the birds. So take a good look at the quality and characteristics of what you are breeding together.
