Eggbid Issues

I don't like being constrained to a week long acution. I like the 24 hour format. I know what my hens are laying right NOW, but a week from now, with hot weather, broodiness, what have you, things can change a lot in a week with the eggs, at least in my flock. PLEASE do not make every auction stretch out for a week, mandatory. Offer 24 hr, three day, week, ten days.

Will people still have the choice to do it the old way? What if someone dosent want to do an auction at all but just simply post the eggs for sale at a set price. Will we be able to still use the buy/sell forum as it is now if we dont want to do auctions?

Why do people want auctions? I'm lost here...i thought people just posted the price that they were selling their eggs for and then someone PM's you and its a done deal...i dont understand the point of auctions. Sorry, can someone explain what the differance is, please. Thanks

I just don't get it either. If you want an auction, use an auction site. If you have a set price, use the BST section. I just see it leading to more disputes and backbiting. If BYC is charging for the service it will have to police it, and I cannot see that going smoothly.

The difference is that as the season goes into summer, demand drops, ergo, prices drop. I would rather sell an egg for a dollar than boil it up for the animals, so I offered a "per egg" price acution and was happy with the selling price. Sometimes I don't know what the market will bear. Easiest way to find out is an auction.

Please dont make us HAVE to do auctions if we want to sell...I'd want to do a set price thing.

There's nothing to "work" when i do my auction. I post what is for sale and my conditions. A day later I scroll back for the last post bidding on my stuff. End of "work" for that auction, other than sending a PM and packing eggs.

This is true, it is selfish to expect BYC to perform a service and get nothing monetary in return. As long as the fees are reasonable then I think all should be happy. Feebay fees are not reasonable, and the gestapo tactics, and the hostile environment makes it a terrible place to sell. It is time their plug was pulled by competition. Why shouldn't BYC make a profit and provide a service doing that.

Amen!!
