Eggbound guinea sad update

    Well, our "eggbound" guinea became sick and lethargic enough to catch this afternoon. The news is sad. She actually was not eggbound, but very, very badly prolapsed. I've never seen that before, it was really sad and painful looking.

    We comforted her a little while, and then DH culled her and we carried her out to the poultry graveyard in the woods.

    That's guineas for you...can't catch 'em till they're practically dead. I feel bad but also I know that if we had tried for her earlier, she just would have hurt herself struggling.
