Hi - I posted this but in a different forum and someone suggested that I post it here. I discovered today that my daughters dAnver more than likely died of egg bound. Now her other old english was acting strange about 5:00 today and when I looked her vent had blood dripping and a white substance. I felt her vent and can feel an egg in there. I have been giving her warm baths for 20 minutes, lubing her vent with petrolium jelly and than drying her and placing her in a dog carrier on a towel that has a heating pad under it. Just now I pulled out a soft shell that was sticking out of her vent. I felt around and there is still an egg in there. She is clearly in distress. Do I continue with the pattern of soaking her in warm water like every hour or more? Or just let her be and hope she passes it through the night?

She made it - whew. the warm water helped her pass a soft shell egg. She seems to be fine now so we are very thankful. I gave her some liquid calcium which I believe helped as well.
