Hello everyone,
I have a hen who I thought was eggbound. She is standing and walking like a penguin. As soon as I noticed I gave her a warm bath for 20 minutes. However she didn’t poop anything out until the next morning (looked like lash egg but it was soft and gooey looking. No egg yolk) I thought she was okay but it has been about a week in half since she has done this.
She is very alert. Eating and drinking just fine. She has no problem running away from me now. She’ll leave the coop and just stand there or just lay down. I haven’t poked my finger in her but I have given her multiple soaks. I did give her antibiotics just in case it was the egg yolk disease. She has improved but she is still walking around like a penguin. However she will try to walk normal but it only lasts a minute or two.
I’m not sure on what else to do. I don’t want to over treat her because I don’t want to make it worse. Her vent looks fine. But between her legs feels a little squishy. Any ideas? Could it be cancer? She is under a year old. She recently started laying two months ago
Thank you!
