Eggbound

My son has an egg chicken who is egg Bound we think. Anyone know of a vet who will travel today to Conway, MA. The vets that way can’t help till tomorrow and the chicken “Edna” is in terrible pain (afraid she won’t make another night). Maybe someone knows of a remedy? — looking for recommendations.

Welcome to BYC. Hopefully, someone will recommend a vet for you. Can you insert a finger into her vent 1-2 inches (use a rubber glove and lubricate the finger) to check for something hard or soft tissue? If you feel an egg, and she is not weak or in bad shape, place her in a warm pan of water to soak her lower body for 30 minutes. Give her a dose of calcium also, and that can be a 1/2 calcium tablet, Tums, or some finely ground egg shell.
