I found that Turkey eggs are tan covered in speckled and when I went to check my supply there was a dozen of them thank heavens lol and I hear they're just as good to eat I'm sure they are because me and my kids have already been eating them thinking they were chicken eggs lol... you truly can learn something new everyday!!

Hey if they we're laying more than one egg daily the could be in Guinness Book of Records.

I have seen 2 eggs in one day from one of mine once , but when days are very long with one very early and one very late the next day.

hey sunflour they are laying more than one egg a day we got 4 today but little peep has contributed to the pile in the past but we usually are getting 4 to 5 a day

Make sure I am understanding this, from 2 chickens, you got 4 eggs without the turkey contribution?

It takes 25 + hours for an egg to develop and be laid.. that's what the text books tell.

So if you can prove yours are doing this…then call Guinness folks for real..This will be breaking news and you will get very rich.
 
I've heard what the text book says but I know I have two chickens and they are laying more than one egg a day!! I check my coop thoroughly and my nesting boxes thoroughly everyday so that there are no eggs missed they are laying more than one a day!! I think I'm going to set up a video camera to see if I can catch them in action because I know how many eggs I'm getting and it is amazing so everyone I don't know much about chickens but this is happening this is all a new adventure for me I have no reason to lie!! If that it is something that could make my little Georgie and Trixie famous that would be awesome!!
 
Welcome! I enjoyed reading your intro! Very interesting! I hadn't heard of them laying two a day! Those girls seem busy! Great advice on watching their diet!
 
the only other conclusion is that they're coming from little peep my turkey they all hang out together and I was told that her eggs are speckled so I'm not sure because the majority of the eggs are not but I will just put a video camera up and find out who's the culprit behind this because we are getting a lot of eggs and they're coming from someone in the coop if not all of them!! I was very excited about my eggventure and my chicken and turkey but now everyone is making me feel bad like I have something to lie about I have never been one for telling tall tales!! I don't know how or why all this has come about but I know how many eggs I find daily and it makes me sad to think that something is wrong my girls =(
