All 3 of my April chicks are now laying!! It’s so rewarding to see all that hard work of raising them pay off. This is what it’s all about.

It’s so funny how these little peeps grow up and play a big part in helping us eat organic eggs.

Unfortunately, 1 of the gray ones passed away suddenly 2 months in, and 1 of the black ones was a rooster who had to be rehomed.

It looks like my Easter Eggers turned out to be Olive Eggers, but that’s okay with me! They are heathy and have such beautiful feathers. It’s also funny because one didn’t get the olive egg trait, it’s funny how genetics work. They all taste the same though! I’m just happy they are laying.

Sorry you had some setbacks, but it’s so exciting when you’re finally getting a steady supply of eggs. Your girls are beautiful!
It’s part of it all, sometimes you can do everything right and still lose some chicks. If I had to guess, it might have been her heart. But the ones that do make it makes it all that much more special!
