My hen takes a great amount of time to lay an egg is this usually the case

She just started going to her nesting box late morning an then I put them back into coop while I went to grocery store an she didn't like lay an egg until early afternoon but she is new to the egglaying an has had some shellless yolks thanks

Do you provide oyster shells on the side? Dont mix it into the feed, leave it in a seperate comtianer where it cannot get wet.

Soft shell eggs can take a long time to get down the pike.
