"Eggless" chickens! - 2 are now laying!!! (update in post 1)

I have four 24-25 week old Barred Rock pullets and NONE of them have started laying yet! I'm beginning to think I may have a new, rare chicken - the "eggless" variety! ARGH!!

UPDATE:
Went out Sunday morning to check the nest box (as usual) and found an EGG, which I immediately used to make dough for cinnamon rolls! Then, Sunday evening, another BR pullet came out of the coop alone, so I sent DS over to check for the heck of it. Sure enough, there was another EGG in the nest box! YAY! Now to wait on the others to catch on! *LoL*

I have a 26 week old pullet that decided today she was going to be broody.

I had 2 EE pullets last year that were 32 and 33 weeks before they began to lay. BUT - they both lay Jumbo sized eggs now, they are the only chooks I have that consistently lay Jumbo eggs. So...maybe the wait is worth it?

I've got silver penciled rocks that are 22 1/2 weeks now and have been BRIGHT RED in the face for WEEKS now, and still no eggs. So...I'm with ya!

Just wait until you go from 4 and 5 eggs a day to nothing!!! UHHGGG!! I think they are protesting (maybe ours are in cahoots because mine are barreds also lol)

Mine all have red, developed combs and wattles and they've been crouching for the boys for about two weeks now. We've looked all over the yard and around every possible tree and shrub we can think of "just in case." They did "dig out" two nests in the nest box yesterday (I have golf balls in each now), so I'm hopeful

They need to take lessons from my quail; they've been laying since they were 6 weeks old!

I have 8 27 week olds poulets. 3 have started laying and 5 are still holding out!

I had a friend that had some "eggless" chickens. She gave them to me. I got lots of eggs. She tried again with new hens and got the same result. It turned out her Doberman found a way to sneak into the hen house when no one was looking and gobbled up all the eggs. You wouldn't believe the shiny coat that dog had.

I thought that only three of my seven were layers until my sons friend found their stash today. 60 ##$%@@%#@ eggs were hidden behind the shed!

I had thought three had finally figured out how to use the nest, but now I suppose there was just no room left in the favorite spot...

I would have to guess that all of them are actually laying...they had just kept it very secret.
