I just rationalize my incubation addiction by emphasizing the fact I could be doing ALOT worse things with my time and money. Usually that is countered with "Where are we gonna house all these and how will we feed them?".
Found out 1 of hubby's buddies wants me to grow out some chickens for butchering. So right there is an out for extra roos and culls. The sweet part is HE will butcher them himself.
Another of hubby's buddies has a city girlfriend who just moved in with him, he lives on a farm. She has been bugging him for chickens so I have 2 dozen of my own RIR's in the bator. I tease him since he is a tool/die maker he can make a chicken guillotine so poor hubby doesn't have to swing the hatchet...he thinks I am kidding but I really am not!!! LOLOLOL
The best part now is hubby is taking an interest in the hatching process and promises he will make a cabinet style incubator that will be ready by next spring. He plans to build it little by little until it is done. I have three foam incubators and he understand how difficult it can be to keep temp and humidity at the right levels. So really, he is my enabler...LOLOL
