Eggs are coming...Hubby's gonna be mad

Well, if you eggs are due to hatch on the 10th and your new eggs ship on the 18th, arrive on the 20th, that is a 10 day break for the bator!!

Holy mackerel! Considering how hard my Wonderful Husband has been working on our first coop, I'll probably not share this little tid bit with him right now....

Work yourself up to it slowly. Beleive it or not but just two springs ago I had gotton down to just one roo. Its sooooooo easy to get in my situation. Of course I live out in the country and have lots of room for coops.

My SO is ALWAYS working on new coops.

I just rationalize my incubation addiction by emphasizing the fact I could be doing ALOT worse things with my time and money. Usually that is countered with "Where are we gonna house all these and how will we feed them?".

Found out 1 of hubby's buddies wants me to grow out some chickens for butchering. So right there is an out for extra roos and culls. The sweet part is HE will butcher them himself.

Another of hubby's buddies has a city girlfriend who just moved in with him, he lives on a farm. She has been bugging him for chickens so I have 2 dozen of my own RIR's in the bator. I tease him since he is a tool/die maker he can make a chicken guillotine so poor hubby doesn't have to swing the hatchet...he thinks I am kidding but I really am not!!! LOLOLOL

The best part now is hubby is taking an interest in the hatching process and promises he will make a cabinet style incubator that will be ready by next spring. He plans to build it little by little until it is done. I have three foam incubators and he understand how difficult it can be to keep temp and humidity at the right levels. So really, he is my enabler...LOLOL

Cat's out of the bag. My eggs came today. Hubby is fine. He just laughed and asked if I was going to need another coop. Of course I said yes. MORE CHICKENS!!!!!

Crap....I must have married wrong!! If I want a new coop I have to build it myself! New goat shelter??? Build it, New horse shelter, Build it. New coop? Build it. New dog...buy it....not on your life!!! He doesn't take care of ANY of the animals!! LOL. He doesn't complain as long as *I* take care of the details. Can I say I'm worn out? LOL

I am reading these out loud to my husband so he doesn't think I am the only one batorobsessed. He is just shaking his head with that look on his face.

Priceless.

Now I get to break the news:We are getting a new kitten on Saturday. He thinks I have enough babies! He is a good DH and a good sport about my Ellie-Mae complex.

WOW guess i better give hubby more love LOL he does not even care how many we have. In fact he just made me a cabnet style bator that can hold 200 eggs. This weekend we are making a hatchery. He told me i can have as many as i want and hatch 100s as long as i take care of them. I better give him kisses guess i am blessed.

back rubs work wonders for getting new birdies
