That chick will do just fine in the bator for the rest of the time while the others hatch so dont worry about it staying in there up to 36 hours or more.It will take a good while to dry out and get its legs under it.

the first chick might have a problem, or it might be normal I don't know.

I noticed while it was trying to walk around that there was some sort of goopy thing around the vent, but maybe between the vent and tummy area. I thought it was a poo that just hadn't fallen off since the chick was still wet. Then the chick went and sat on a wet cloth I have in the bator for humidity and there is a little spot of blood where it was sitting. could it have come from the goopy thing I saw? I can't see it too good where it is positioned to really tell what it is and don't think I should open the bator, so I don't know what to do

Edit: There is def. something hanging there in front of the vent area, looks redish

i'm afraid it sounds like it may not have it's insides where they should be, they may not have formed inside the body fully. it does tend to happen and there is not much that can be done to help if this is what has happened. if you have any pics that may help some.

i am sorry but i may not be much help.

I can hardly make it out just by trying to look through the bator. I have been waiting for it to sleep, or slip and roll onto its back so I can get a better look/pic but there just isn't much opprotunity to. it is in a strange spot and I only get a quick glimpse when it shows its rear and leans all the way forward.

I will try the best I can to get a pic.

I looked through a few other threads and I guess it is unabsorbed yoke, it isn't as bad looking as the ones I have seen on here, from what I can tell anyway. It just looks like a little bit hanging out. I am going to wait and see what it looks like in the morning and see if I can find speckledhen's thread about the super glue. I saw someone reference it on a thread. Though it might just absorb it on its own... I hope

Update:

4 BLRW babies and 1 wellie pip this morning.

Bubble Butt (it's name now!) seems to be ok, it is fluffed up pretty good and I can't really see the little thingie any more that was there last night. Once they are all done hatching I will have pics of all the babies and bubble butt's butt so we can see what it might be.
