Could it also be that the whites of the eggs being fresh are not runny like store bought eggs making it appear that there is less?

The eggs my chickens are laying are mostly yolk...is this due to a protein deficiency? or is this normal. They are young and new to laying (first few months). Egg size seems normal.
thanks !
ok i will but don't do smart phones so gonna be more difficultPlease post pics of egg opened into a shallow dish so we can see the ratio.
i have 5 hens and 3 roosters (I know, not balanced but that's what happened). 3 hens are Ameraucana, 1 white crested blue polish and 1 golden polish. They are all under a year old - this is their first few months of laying..
I feed them Scratch/Peck Layer food (they were raise on grower, 18% protein) plus i feed them raw seeds (sesame, chia, sunflower, pumpkin others) and mix with ground up veggies from cabbage, squash, shiitake, broccoli, carrots, kale, other veggies......treats are mealworms, blueberries and raspberries, sometimes boiled eggs which they love !! also xtra oyster shell and 2 sizes of grit (the small stuff and then larger dime size- maybe a little smaller). My problem is I feed them on the ground in various areas (covered but still may get damp). so there's this huge pile of food.
The stressors are really low - feed available all day whenever they want. Not sure how to examine for lice and mites i'll look into that. thanks.
I don't have a smart phone eitherok i will but don't do smart phones so gonna be more difficult.
so true !!Could it also be that the whites of the eggs being fresh are not runny like store bought eggs making it appear that there is less?
yes Scratch and Peck AMAZONI would worry, what with all the stuff you are feeding, whether they are getting all the nutrients that they need to produce eggs! They really need a good quality, well-balanced, layer feed with lots of vitamins and minerals in it! Is "Scratch and Peck" the name of the layer feed you are using?
hmmm . daily is that bad to give them fruit and veggies daily? That sounds like a lot of treats. How much and how often are you giving the treats?
