Today at 6pm will be the end of the 20th day I just got home from work and have 6 fully hatched eggs, looks like alot of the others are starting. My question is how long should I wait after the first chicks hatched before opening the incubator? I don't want to kill any unhatched chicks by opening.g to soon and I don't want to leave the first born in there to long either. I know they will all hatch preaty close to each other but I am sure a few eggs wont hatch since I haven't candled in a week and a half and may have lost a few but I don't want to give up on them though. It would be nice if when I wake up in about 7 hours from now they are all hatched and I don't have to worry about it.

Chicks can stay in incubator for up to 3 days. A lot of folks take them out right away. I have not figured out how to do this without killing every unhatched chick by shrink wrapping them. The call is yours. Hopefully they will all be hatched. Good Luck and

One of my incubators has so much condensation on the windows I can't see into it and the other does not, there are chicks in both though, should I pull a plug in the one with condensation or maybe add some water through the hole of the one with dry windows?

i would pull out a vent plug in the incubator with the condensation and leave the other alone... if anything the drying chicks will add moisture to the incubator. I had a similar problem not knowing when to take out my chicks seeing as all but 1 had hatched at the end of day 21. As long as none of the other eggs have pipped i think its safe to take out the other chicks... but be as quick as possible just to be sure.

I dont know what kind of egg incubator you have, but what I did is I wet my towel with hot water, and covered the sides of it, then I was able to pull out the baby chickies. The other eggs hatched fine.
