Eggs didn't hatch

Two hens have been sitting on eggs for 25 days and they didn't hatch yet. I know there are baby chicks growing in them, but I don't know if they are alive. How much longer should I wait? One broke open and the chick was not fully developed and was dead. The mom picked it up and dropped it on the floor.

1. Are they chicken eggs?
2. Are you positive its been 25 days?
3. Have the hens been sitting on them for the full 25 days or did they gap or start late to counting?

They are chicken eggs. I'm not positive on the days. They have been sitting on them all day every day except to come out and eat a bit.
But Good news!!! I just heard some chirping this morning.
I didn't release i posted under ducks.
