Eggs different color than when they hatch

we got fertil eggs for our then broody hen that got eaten 3 months later;( RIP Bozo. Anyways we got them on Craigslist and picked all the blue ones 2 white one and a speckled brown. I have an australorp 2 Austra whites our only rooster and a hen and 4 Plymouth Rockish chickens but they look lighter than that and when we got there eggs from this nice lady they were Easter Eggers but now all of our eggs are cream and speckled brown and regular brown. Why?

Mine got a lot lighter it means the chick is growing so the color fades for some reason at least that's what happend with my EE as she grew the eggs got more pale

What are you asking exactly? Why the chicks you hatched aren’t laying the color eggs they hatched from?

Egg shell of the egg a chick comes from is only indicative of the color a female chick will eventually produce if the chick is bred pure -- a hen covered by a cock bird of another breed will lay the egg color appropriate for *her* breed, but the resulting female chick will not be of the same genetic make-up of that hen due to the genetic contribution from the cock bird, these genetics dictate shell color for the eggs the chick eventually lays. For example, many Easter Egg chicks actually hatch from brown or white eggs but go on to produce blue/green eggs.....or a chick that is produced by a white laying hen that was covered by a brown laying cock breed will produce a shade of brown rather than white.

because of the roosters contribution to the gene pool. sure the mother hens laid blue eggs but if the rooster gave them a brown egg laying gene it changes the game for the chicks.
