I have a broody hen sitting on 8 eggs. When I went to check on her today she was up off of them and didn't make a bee line back to them when she saw me in the coop like she usually does. Well she had too eggs that exploded! Yuck!! The other 6 eggs were covered in grossness so I wiped them off completely but a couple of them already had ants on them
I'm wondering if they will still be OK. We use empty plastic cat litter boxes for our broody hens so I got her a couple new box with new nesting materials. I wanted to wash her off but there was no way she was allowing that! She ran right back in there to sit on them. Really hoping they are OK. This is our second try for chicks. We had three beautiful babies earlier but we had a feral cat get them
