Eggs had a plane trip. Lets see what happens. I HAVE BABIES. and PICS.

I've hatched both ways, and I really like hatching in the egg cartons. (paper cartons) I had a much better hatch this way and the eggs were not being kicked around by the chicks that had already hatched. Out of 11 viable eggs (had 13 in there but 2 had died before lockdown) I hatched 10. I'm not sure why the one that did not hatch died. It had pipped, then died. The chick looked fine when I opened the egg, so who knows.

I have to say I am sorry about the mistake I made in this post. I don't know why I typed day 17 instead of 18!

we support you really kathy but people are still telling me to offer you chocolate orps and see if you stick it with the temptation

lol im not going to tempt you i think your doing a brave thing and i already said no to gus they are just to special for a home made or the simple bator im using i would feel bad if they didnt hatch i saw someone selling 12 for £200 the other day i would rather he sold the eggs and kept the money than me have them and mess them up and i doubt a plane journey in the holds would do eggs very good either

Guinea Fowl galore... are the eggs you are hatching Light Sussex, silkie and Wyandottes? I saw your pics of the older Sussex. Aren't they the sweetest birds? I love mine! But I love all my birds.

Thanks for "What my Mother taught me" I really enjoyed that.

Yes, There are light Sussex, silkies, silver laced Wyandotte and some Wyandotte bantams.
I absolutely LOVE my light sussex cross ? birds. They are the only breed I have had so far ( apart from glen and rose ) so I can't really compare them to anything yet but I just love their personality it's so sweet and gentle and caring
