He wont need to stand up, he will probably rest for 24 hours and by then, he will be dry and fluffy, and ready for the brooder. How many days did you think Rouens took to hatch, just curious, to see if they are early

Should I take the cotton balls out tomorrow? Have you had good hatches with the R-Com mini?

I put them in on Sept 30th at 11:00am so Oct 1st would have been the 1st whole day and most ducks are 28 days correct??

Take the cotton out, it may just be affecting the humidity, and taking up too much space, but please do this quickly!! You dont want to loose anymore humidity.

My hatches with the R-Com have been very good, I have nearly have 100% unfortunately one was a DIS a few days before hatching.

I forgot to mention something. I sprinkled them with some water because I was afraid that since I opened the incubator the humidity would be lost.

ETA- I have some chicken eggs in the incubator ATM, and im hoping to get some ducks in the Spring, if it would hurry up and come!!

Thank you. I just called the teacher and told her to take the cotton balls out. This is nerve racking. After reading all the things that can go wrong during hatching I have been a nervous wreck. I was concerned the humidity levels would be to low for ducks. I didn't know if the eggs would hatch so I had bought a Brinsea Mini advance and got some chicken eggs. They are at home and seem to be doing well. They are due next week.

The R-Com mini controls the humidity, so there is no need for cotton balls etc.. as long as the incubator was set to be for ducks, so you press the button to select them, which I presume was how it was done? Good luck with this hatch, and with your next!!
