Eggs hatching with low humidity

Thankyou! I hope some other ones hatch soon they have been in the incubator for 28 days?
They are alive I checked two days ago.

I put the tape on his feet a few hours ago. I wil probably leave it on for 3 days because that foot was pretty curled.
He is very chipper. We showed him our cats and he ran towards them. Scared them to death!

PS he was in:lau tank we held them up.

What a cutie!!! Cats are so funny - and your ginger looks like such a tough dude!

Can you hear any cheeping coming from the other eggs? Try tapping on the fat end then putting it up to your ear to listen. They'll be fine for a quick trip out of the bator as long as they haven't started pipping, and even if they have a little dab of water on the pip will make sure they don't dry out. Quail are amazingly tough. Or you could try float testing but make 100% sure they haven't started pipping as the water will get inside the egg and drown the chick. It's just putting the eggs into a bowl of warm water and seeing if they move. It will be very noticeable. The eggs will jerk if there's a baby in there.

We had to tape one of our baby's feet - it was one I helped to hatch. She managed to get the tape off after a day and her toes were straight, so they straighten out pretty quick. Her name is Rarity and she recently started laying for us - cute little eggs. I'm very glad I helped her into this world.

Sadly the little guy died this morning. :hit
I think something was wrong with him from the start. I have not heard any pecking or peeping from the other eggs. I put them on my ear and scratch them I don't hear a thing. I don't know if my pair is defective because I hatched 6 out from them 2years ago and only 1 is still alive. At six to eight months they started to die.
The female that was with the male died last winter. So I put my only female with him. She is his daughter. Is that to close of breeding? This summer they sat on 15-20 eggs she laid they were good. After a month I broke one open and found a dead chick in it. About 10-15 were like that.
Thankyou for all your help.

I'm so sorry! It's always tough losing them. Father to daughter is not too close genetically. It sounds like she was sitting on a lot of eggs and being her first time it may have just been the fact she didn't cover them properly or turn them enough. Your boy must be good to still be giving you a lot of fertile eggs, but his age may be a factor as after a year old their fertility decreases. Maybe 20% of my eggs get fertilized by my old boy!

Do try hatching some again.

Sorry to hear that :/ Maybe we can help you figure out why your adults birds have such a high mortality rate. What do you feed them and what percent protein is it? :)
