How many eggs a year will a red sexlink lay? I got 280 from wikianswers, but its not always reliable... does anyone know for sure?

When i had red sex links I pretty much got an egg every day. Sometimes they would have an off day and go through a molting period but when they were laying it was everyday.

Reds will generally outlay the blacks somewhat though usually not by a whole lot.

But how much either will give you in a year depends largely on your management and environmental conditions. Commercial layer houses are very carefully environmentally controlled and monitored so they can get the most out of their birds. We backyard folks can't generally do that so much accept somewhat less production. Still, you should be able to get 225+ eggs in their first year if you manage them properly and have a good set up.
