Eggs in incubator 8/22. Anyone else putting eggs in?

I hope I don't get to the point where I need an incubator that holds 120 eggs. But unfortunetly, it might come to that.

only suppose to get 7 eggs for the first time incubation, ended up with 20.
So it seems like next time if I am suppose to get 20, I might end up with 60.

I put some polish, 3 guinea eggs and a surprise mix from a fellow BYCer in on Saturday - 8/20. Candled and I can clearly see 5 of 7 growers in the Polish eggs - others are harder to see because of egg color.

To bad you couldn't have 7 out of 7. But anything is better then nothing.

I am not sure if I want to candle or not. I know it would be useless to keep going with eggs that are no good. But since this is my first time, I wouldn't want to stop on and egg, and then come to find out it was good and shouldn't of been pulled. Or maybe I will candle them, but not pull any and see what ones hatch. So I can learn that way.

Thats what im going to do. Im going to put an "x" on the ones i think are bad. If they dont hatch i know what im looking at if they do hatch ill have to adjust my conception of whats alive and what isnt.

I just picked up $20 worth of hatcher-making supplies at Lowes today - with the hatch dates all over the place I"m going to need some help! Today is day 7 for the cochins but I'm not sure I want to candle - aside from rotating eggs from outside to inside in the bator I really don't want to be messing with them. I can smell if any is a stinker, so I may just wait and candle at the end if someone doesn't hatch.

This is my second chicken hatch from my LG - I had a ton of luck with button quail previously, the last attempt with chickens had so many factors against me it was a wonder any developed, and no great surprise none hatched. The 4 that developed all quit around the same time - just about when the auto turner was unplugged and I had a temperature drop for 3 days. A hatcher will eliminate that issue, I hope.

Final batch should be here tomorrow - that'll make 36 eggies, of which i'm hoping for maybe 10 keepers. Good luck everyone!
