What did you do in the garden today?

I messed up.

I completely forgot that I moved several potted aloe plants into my gardening shed to avoid the cold. That works great when temps drop around freezing but is not protection enough if the temp drops significantly below freezing.

Well not only did the temp drop to nearly single digits on several days but I also forgot to water them all for nearly a month.

Tonight I remembered they were out there. All of them are limp and wilted. I set them outside since temps are in the mid-50s and it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow.

What are the thoughts on their ability to recover? Should I consider them goners? 😕

they recover easily. just don't water them too much. there is more chance they recover bc you didn't water them. in the worst case they will start from the roots next year.

The second batch of eggs went into lockdown this morning. They should start pipping tomorrow evening or Saturday. Need to get the brooder in place.

I had to filet all of my tilapia in one of my fish tanks today. I started after lunch and just finished at 2 am.
After standing for a long-time cleaning fish, my right thigh developed a knot near the hip bone making it hard to tell where the pain was coming from. I tried all kinds of different stretches and couldn't pinpoint the pain and finally found it poking around my thigh, but my finger got sore massaging the area, so I decided to buy an electric hand held massager.

There were two that was recommended by AI. However, the Apex gun was $139 and the Thera gun was $359. It's a good thing I got the cheaper one because the low setting was really powerful and eventually, I got to the 2nd to dissolve the knot. The 3rd and last setting were too strong for me. This is the best purchase I made in 2025, since it solved a major health and wellness issue.

My experience with the TIA and the medical staff is disappointing. I feel scammed! Spent 4 hours in the ER ran a bunch of test and came to no conclusion. Referred me to my family doctor for a followup. He said I had a TIA. ER also referred me to a neurologist. Went there yesterday and all she did was ask question and do some basic things like can you see this, can you feel this. Push out pull in. She said there is really no way to prove a TIA. Take a aspirin everyday. So insurance is billed thousands for tests and 2 referrals to prove it was not something else. When from the start they knew they could never say for sure it was a TIA. :he

I cut off the heads and collar bone and took out the guts, but I left the scales on. It's a good thing I got this heavy-duty poultry and fish scissors. It's the best scissors I every owned.

I will have to process several Red Star roosters after Christmas; they started baby crowing and messing with their sisters.

Sooooo, are we getting a kick back from the manufacturer of these scissors? :D Seems a bit suspicious🤔

Yesterday was nice 41 and sunny. Today weak sunshine and 40. I notice kids do not play in the snow anymore. No snowmen, sledding or snowball fights. Times have changed.
Sissy generations unwilling to engage with the real world and experience some actual tactile interactions…….internet is commanding attention and allegiance. Or am I just being an old gloomy Gus?

We are, in the end, just a revenue stream for them.
