eggs in shavings from KartKing22

I received eggs from a fellow BYCer somewhat this way. No broken eggs. Will be candling eggs soon...

Hi!
I have never taken pics of the little pheasant babies --- gosh, they are almost 3 wks old! They are sooo sweet. I had to put a top on their brooder cause they kept jumping out --- instead of running away when they jump out, they come right to me to be picked up and put back in the brooder.

I'll get pics asap (but they just look like brownish chicks with long legs to me.)

No complaints about the packaging or the eggs.

Hi! I think there is a lot to be said about egg size and carton-size if one is using shavings. A pheasant-sized egg was well-surrounded by shavings in the cartons, but a med to lg chicken egg would not be.
I personally will continue to use bubble-wrap, just because that's what I'm comfortable with.

I think you have an excellent point about the carton size vs egg size and packing in shavings, Lisa. I've never been let down by the bubblewrap yet and I'd be afraid to switch! If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Point taken that I did have the advantage of packing my eggs in regular chicken cartons. This wasn't my intention to have Lisa post her pics as the best way. It's just my way and she was happy with recieving all eggs with none broken. It was a personal challenge to find the best way to ship eggs between us. If you have a better way, please let everyone know. I have had bad experience with bubble wrapped eggs in the past. I found that all eggs shipped from me have all been recieved the same way less one cracked.
