Eggs in the incubator

They're a cross between Royal Palm and Midget White.
If the tom is the Royal Palm and the hen is the White, the offspring are sex linked with all male offspring being Bronze Semi-Gray and all female offspring being Oregon Grays.

If the tom is the White and the hen is the Royal palm, all offspring would be Bronze Semi-Gray.

All domesticated turkeys are of the same "specie", but there are many "breeds". You are free to believe what you wish when it comes to incubation times.

Thank you, this is useful to know. It's my tom that's the Royal Palm.

All domesticated turkeys are the breed Turkey. Unlike chickens, turkeys are much closer related to each other and don't have as many different genes. The APA recognizes many different breeds of chickens but they only recognize one breed of Turkey. They only recognize 8 varieties but there are many more possible varieties and even more color variations.

How the term breed is used or misused concerning other fowl or animals does not mean it should be used the same way when it applies to turkeys.

Here’s a little update on the hatching. The first batch of five eggs three hatched, so 60%, which for my first time I think not bad.

The second batch of eleven went on lockdown Thursday which was early. This morning to my amazement five had hatched. They were not due till Monday.

I’m up to 8 poults, which is exciting

For the next two batches I will be moving lockdown earlier by a couple of days.

So I decided to call it on the first batch three of five isn’t too bad. The two eggs that I had left I cracked open to see.

They were fully formed and looked like they were ready to hatch. For some reason they just stopped.

The third batch hatched early as all the others. On this batch I dry incubated them and it did a lot better. 5 out of 5 hatched so100% for the third.

the fourth batch will be hatching in a couple of days. They were done dry as well. If the turn out as good then that’s the way I will be going from now on.

I live in East Texas so we already have plenty of humidity
