Eggs Just Got Here And I’m Freaking Out!

That happened to me once during incubation, but luckily it was only out for a half hour or so.

That’s good. It went out 2 nights ago for like an hour, and I didn’t notice
But most of them were ok when I candled.

Make sure you have your brooder warm and ready, just in case. Something to warm water with and a hot water bottle would help if it does go out during incubation or brooding.

An hour is fine, lots of broody hens will leave their nest for about an hour some days. I would definitely put insulation around the incubator whenever it goes out though. Like a blanket or some polystyrene.

Ok . I want to set up the brooder, but I’m worried none will hatch and then I’ll just be more disappointed

I probably should though. If none hatch, I’ll just go get some Faverolles chicks

Eight, I think. I’ve never done this before so I’m not entirely sure what to look for when candling

I’m so anxious. What if I drowned them?! What if the humidity isn’t high enough at only 63%?

What was your humidity throughout incubation?
63% is fine for lockdown, but I try to stay around 65.
