Eggs laid in less than pristine bedding?

Hey all!

I've got a very moody broody hen that isn't sharing the nesting box and my silly girls only like to use the one. I've found that some of my ladies have taken to laying in the corner next to, but not exactly under their roost. It's about time for a thorough clean, I just haven't had the chance to get to it just yet. Are those eggs still safe to eat if they were laid in solid bedding? Would that damage or seep through the bloom?

Yeah you can eat them but I'd give them a good scrub in warm water first. I'd also move them to the start of the line myself, compared to eggs that weren't sitting in poop overnight.
