Thanks so much! I'll keep that in mind...now that I am shopping for one! Hubby was a gem and got me a macro lens I'd been wanting for my camera...not helpful in the coop situation, but I'm grateful!

Crows are my friends though, they keep the hawks away. Better to lose some eggs than a bird.

I'm finding my eggs with yolk on them. There are no shell scrapes in the nest, but you can tell one (at least) has been broken because remaining eggs are covered. Do you think it is one of the chickens or another preditor. We are rural and there could be snakes or rats. I've not seen any near the coop, but that does not mean they are not there.
