more babies hatching of my pullet eggs had 37 in lockdown due for tomorrow and i got 18 hatched already.......i guess the eggs of the pullets are ok afterall.

didn't I tell you, that you were worrying to much? im glad they hatched for you. it sounds like your temp may be just a touch hot, but its working. unless your hatching a bunch of roosters I wouldn't change it.

well down here i had to buy a poultry seller permit at the county courthouse.....$125 for selling and runs the occasion when a health inspector comes around and checks your animals.

here in ohio we have to have NPIP membership to sell eggs or chicks, your supposed to for chickens too. a lot of people don't bother with it as the laws are sketchy at best on local sales. its shipping eggs and chicks that gives us fits.

Hatch list of my pullet eggs:

1. 30 hatched (2 Plymouth Barred Rock Colorings.....

)
2. 3 died in the attemp (zipped all around but didnt kick the shell)
3. 4 died during lockdown

another batch of 250 assortment of quail eggs started hatching today

just 2 more batches left on my sportsman to give it a rest...is to darn hot for the chicks.....im putting 4-5 chicks daily in the garbage can 105+ degrees this past week

what breeds where you supposed to have in there?

I don't do the "lockdown" thing, I open and replace my water daily. its pretty humid here though, and that may make a difference. the only day I don't open is the day of the majority of the hatch. if they have started to pip I lightly mist them with warm water, and don't open the door from then until the end of the main batch.
