ok, so my eggs finished hatching today and here is the results:
out of the 33 eggs that went to lockdown, 21 hatched, 2 died in the attempt to crack the shell (zipped halfway), and the remaining 10 died while in lockdown. so if counting the 2 that died in the attempt plus the 21 that hatched that makes it 23 out of 33 that would be a good 90% hatch rate.....that's not counting the 15 that were either unfertile or bloodring. one thing puzzles me, out of the 21 chicks 2 are a barred plymouth rock color and i dont have any barred plymouth rocks.....all i have are production reds, golden comets, and leghorns????..
Also, i have another batch of my pullet eggs due on the 23, i just candled them and out of the 48 eggs 8 were unfertile and 3 had bloodring so i have 37 going to lock down in 3 days.....lets see if i get more of those BPR colors.
