who wants to know?
umm...where to begin...
some of the hens have been getting under the coop and laying eggs...and from the smell, they're rotting >.<
any ideas on how to get them out??

My coop was/is at ground level, it's a converted garden shed. It was here when we bought the house and one guy want $800 to jack it up. Anyhow I dug a trench around the perimeter and when the chickens started getting out I realized they had tunneled from one corner to the other. What I did was took hardware cloth and stapled it to the sides of the coop and bent it to cover the open area all the way around the coop. You could use chicken wire I suppose. Tack it to the sides of the coop and then bend it out so it extends a foot or so and bury it a few inches or just weight it down with some pressure treated 2x4's.

We had a nest under our coop. Pulled out 23 eggs. We have since used some lattice to block there way under. BTW if an egg is not broken it will not smell.
