Hi! I went into lockdown last night on day 18. A few hours later one of the eggs started wiggling! I woke up this morning to the same egg still wiggling no pip or anything! Is this normal? How long does it normally take for an egg to externally pip?! I'm hatching some silkies.

It's normal to see eggs rocking days 17/18 because they are positioning themselves, head under beak, beak up, getting ready for hatch. Often after this initial rocking they will rest until hatch. Usually w/in 24 hours after internal pip you expect externl pip. But hatch could happen day 19-22. Some hatches are delayed and can produce chicks after day 22, but the further you get from that day 21/22 the more likely it is to see weak chicks/development issues.
