Eggs with chemical smell?

I sell my eggs to friends, and just got a call saying that the 3 dz. I delivered have a chemical smell. It wasn't there when they were delivered, it came on quick. they were only a couple wks. old at the most. They were in styrofoam cartons. Has anyone else had this happen? When they cracked the eggs to see, the inside was strong smelling also.

Could your hens have eaten anything unsual around the time they were laid? I've known a couple cases over the years where free range chickens got into something like a pile of fish cleanings...eggs were fishy smelling and no one could eat them.
