Hi all,
I'm a new member and am just bursting to share these pics with someone interested! These eggs were laid by a french copper maran over the last 2 days and I am gobsmacked. Has anyone ever seem striped or duo colour eggs like these before and why/how?! the divide in colour goes pretty evenly all the way around the egg and the edges are sharp from one colour to the other, particularly the stripped one.. They look like Easter eggs!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I have never had striped eggs, but I have had eggs with sharp lines of two colors. I am not sure how the dye or bloom is put on but sometimes they do run out of it!

Thanks for sharing!

Enjoy your eggs and welcome to our flock!

Sometimes young layers have eggs like that when their system is working out kinks, the color isn't laid down evenly. Keep the ones you are getting because eventually they will produce regular eggs.

Thanks for that everyone.
I cant believe how many people i have shown these to who have said they are fake or tampered with (non chicken keepers i should add). If i do get any more tho I will put up some more pics.
