1 day a week I start work at 4 am and finish around dinner time the chickens are in a large run with an automatic door on the coop will it be ok to collect eggs in the afternoon straight from work as for food it will be in a treddle feeder

Yes, collecting eggs at the end of the day is no problem.

Yes, the eggs will be fine if you gather them in the afternoon. There are times when I get busy and don't collect them for a couple days. No problems yet.
If you think about a hen that is going broody, she will lay eggs for several days before she is ready to sit. The ones that are a couple days old do fine to hatch, so I'm sure they are fine to eat.
