Hi guys I'm new to the site and also a new chicken owner
Just wondering when I can expect eggs out of my
Hens that a freind gave me today. He told me they have been
Laying but I know it's a new environment for them here
So was wondering how long it would take them to adjust to
    The new coop and surroundings

There are a number of considerations...

If they are in their first year, they may waiting two to three weeks and then start laying again. Normally, birds in their first year will lay through the winter. However, they may wait until spring.

If they are older than this, they will most likely wait until spring unless you offer some supplemental lighting. And even then, they may wait a few weeks to adjust or wait until spring.

There are not necessarily hard and fast rules in this instance.
