KO, I have gotten a few eggs so far out of a rafter of turkeys but that is about normal. Mine usually really pick up the pace in early April. I could have missed a few so far though because I free range mine and they are getting a little sneakier in their old age. I would almost bet that those that you hear about laying in January are full of a lot of layer mash or pellets that have about a thousand chemicals in them. It sounds like you are giving them chops or mixing their own feed. I will tell you that I feed mine sunflower seeds and that seems to help them lay a few more (some think that this is crazy because there isn't any links to it) but my birds do look GREAT!!!!

I let mine eat whatever they find when they free range. Im all organic unless it comes to bad worms, parasites...ect. Plus, i have food i bought its crumbles for good plumage. Thats all that i usually buy for them. They only get it at nights sometimes. I got a jenny two weeks ago and im using it to get her un-skittish. Its working =].

Me and you are a LOT alike in how we are raising our birds. I have been raising turkeys with chickens and ducks for years and have NEVER had a problem. I never give them medicated feed, NEVER worm them (but you wont find worms in their stool), only use antibiotics on single birds and give them one week to get better. Last year out of over 150 birds I lost one hen and I dont sale my birds. People call me out of no where to see if I have any for sale.

my royals only started 3 weeks ago, nothing on my merriam, rio grandes or osceolas yet, seems most are having a slow start this year, thing should pick up quick in the next week or two though

FINALLY! I checked the nest and nothing, but i found it in plain daylight. It was the same size as the chicken eggs but much harder to crack and was like off colored white with brown spots. I tried getting a pic but it you couldnt see well. Im so happy! By the way, i couldnt resist and cracked it open, and saw the bulls eye! IM SOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!! This is gonna make varsity soccer practice SO MUCH EASIER!
