Really? Interesting... I have only ever seen that before back when I used to put some water in for hatching and after ones started hatching the humidity jumped way high and I couldn't get it down again...

If one is to believe my meters, humidity has been 40-44% except when I raise it when I see an external pip on the pea eggs.
 
Have you calibrated them recently? Just curious...
Humidity no. All three read about the same humidity, and I verify temp every now and then by measuring the shell temp of the eggs with an infrared meter.

When chicks/lings do start hatching, I raise humidity and it stays around 70%.

Last peachick lost 16% of it's weight, so I'm fairly confident that they're pretty close.
