Eggus interruptus...

Poor Dumpling. I opened the nesting box and she was in there trying to have private time.

They do get an attitude when interupted.

We moved all our nesting boxes in the coop today, to a different wall. I think every hen was in each box at least 10 times, checking them all out as if they were new. Chattering away the whole time, sure wish I could understand them.

They must have liked the new location because I got 2 first time eggs today....my white Cochin and my EE/Silkie mix (she laid a blue one yay).

She would get annoyed very quickly in our coop. Poor Rita: I spent about an hour and a half sitting in front of the nest box trying to get a good pic of her laying. (I did.) Ours are used to it now.

my copper black marans are okay with me around when they lay. They will let me put my hand under them and lay in my hand. (yuk! I just wanted to see if they would let me. The egg is warm and wet, in case anyone else wants to try it)

i know!..i always feel "weird" when i interrupt them!......and my hubby wont EVEN go near the boxes if they are laying...i told him just the other day...you have to stick your hand under them to get all the eggs out!...should have seen his face!..
