Egypt - Important situation to Americans with world wide implications

They're just cheap thugs using a religion to justify their actions. Using religion to justify being a thug is a pretty low attitude.

They move in when others have done the work, into a perceived vacuum. Not yet clear whether it really is a vacuum yet.

The demonstrations have now turned much more violent and they aren't over yet.

The military has never shot live bullets at the people. They are shooting tear gas cannisters.

I was watching a live feed and it looks pretty quiet right now. I think the feed is a government station though. Looks like the rioters were busy last night. The reports I'm seeing are 38 dead. 10 of which were security forces.

I heard the same figures.

History is being made today, for better or for worse. This is the first time this military has fired live ammunition on the people.

However, things have changed radically on the demonstrator's side, too. The president replaced the government officers (other than himself, LOL), and that's when the Muslim Brotherhood came out from under their rocks, and started throwing rocks.

Just heard from step daughter and family. They have tanks and armed personnal at each end of their block. Live gunfire going off as well. Said the crowd has gone from protest mode to mob mentality and looting has begun. Grocery stores were the first to go and are empty. They are safe and hunkered down in their home. American Embassy has NOT ordered evacuations yet.

Would like to request prayers for everybody who has family there and prayers to keep our loved ones safe from harm.
